The School Board recently welcomed two new Board members, Michael Gilmore and Louis Gross, who were elected on April 9, 2013. In addition, Tony Forchetti and Josh Prober were re-elected to their second term during the same election.

NBJH's sixth grade language arts teachers recently were honored by the Illinois branch of the National School Public Relations Association for their Bullying Symposium. The team received a Distinguished Service Award of Merit during a ceremony May 3.

The second sale for PTO Council's GiftCard Plus fundraiser runs through May 19. GiftCard Plus allows individuals to purchase gift cards at face value, with the PTO Council earning a percentage of each card. Order forms may be downloaded on the web page.
Please plan a visit to the Book Fair this week! The hours are Thursday, May 16th, 1-8 pm, and Friday, May 17th, 8-10:30 am. Also, a few volunteers are still needed. If you are able to help out, we'd love to have you!
Bring the kids for a fun-filled evening of games, treats & activities on Wednesday, May 29th from 5:45-7:45 pm. New this year: Toasty Cheese mobile eatery will be selling yummy dinner food. Help make this a great event by volunteering for a short shift!
The form for pre-ordering school supplies is now available on the PTO website. The deadline to order is May 31st! NOTE: Pre-ordering school supplies is a service for parents. This is not a fundraiser for the PTO.
Now is the time to sign up for a PTO Committee for next year. There are still many committees in need of volunteers and/or a chairperson. Volunteering on a PTO Committee is a great way to help the school and make new friends!
On May 24th chicken nuggets and hamburgers from McDonald's will be served to participating students. Also on the menu are a fruit and yogurt parfait and cookie. Please note that this is the last special lunch of the school year.
